Elovane is operated by Smart Technology Investments (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our solar ROI analysis tools, blog content, and related services at elovane.smarttechinvest.com (“the Service”).

When you use the Elovane calculator, you may provide:

  • Zip code or state
  • Annual electricity consumption (kWh) or monthly bill amount
  • Roof area and orientation (optional)
  • Budget range (optional)
  • Which systems to evaluate (solar, battery, heat pump)
  • Planned years at property

This information is used solely to generate your solar ROI analysis. We do not store your calculator inputs on our servers. All calculations are processed in real time and the results are returned directly to your browser. We do not associate calculator inputs with any personal identifier.

Automatically Collected Information

Like most web services, our infrastructure may automatically collect:

  • IP address (for rate limiting and abuse prevention)
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Referring URL

This information is collected through standard web server logs and is used for service operation, security, and aggregate analytics. We do not use this data to identify individual users.

  • Generate solar, battery, and heat pump ROI calculations based on your inputs
  • Operate and maintain the Service

Elovane does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. We may use essential cookies for:

  • Session management (if applicable)
  • Rate limiting and security

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar third-party analytics services that track users across websites.

6. Data Retention

Calculator inputs are not stored. Server logs are retained for up to 30 days for operational purposes and then deleted. We do not maintain long-term databases of user activity.

We use industry-standard security measures to protect the Service, including:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
  • Cloudflare DDoS protection and Web Application Firewall
  • Rate limiting on API endpoints
  • No storage of sensitive personal information

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
